Judo was founded by a Japanese man named Jigaro Kano. His ideals was Jita Keyoi, Serioku Zenyoi, and Jita No Kansay. Mutual benefit and welfare, maximum efficiency, and strive for perfection of the human character. Our Judo also holds these values of Jigaro Kano. Besides the sport of Judo this art includes shoot wrestling and Aikido. This opens up the realm to be able to defend yourself with this art while still having the fun of sport Judo competition.

The main teacher is Soke Dai Seibert with assistant instructor Sensei Jared Fox. Judo involves 50% throws from standing position. They include hip throws, leg reaps, sacrifice throws and foot sweeps. The other percentile involves mat techniques such as pinning holds, ankle locks, knee locks, arm locks, and chokes.

A beginner starts learning to fall from prone position, squatting and building himself up to a standing position so no injuries happen. He learns to fit in and off balance his partner before he actually throws him. Safety is stressed through out the learning. Along with this the proper Japanese etiquette is learned with all the Japanese words for each of the throws and locks.

What is so unique about Judo is that you learn a great deal of sensitivity about any subtle movements from your partner. Once you have the right positing for a throw you can apply full force executing the technique. All throws are designed to put the opponent flat on his back.
